Pipeline bursts, oil leaks into irrigation canal
In Diyarbakır, a leak occurred after a pipeline belonging to the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO) in the Hazro district was struck during road construction work. Crude oil has leaked into the irrigation canals fed by the Başlar Dam.
According to the information received, a crude oil pipeline belonging to TPAO, located in the rural İncekavak neighborhood of Hazro district, burst during road construction work.
The crude oil that spread into the environment leaked into the irrigation canal fed by the Başlar Dam. Local residents reported the situation to the authorities.
Teams affiliated with TPAO arrived at the scene and initiated repair and cleanup efforts. The teams' cleanup operations in the area are ongoing.
