Police officer loses life in traffic accident in Adana
In a traffic accident that occurred in Adana, two police officers serving in the Istanbul Police Department's Şişli Patrol Units were involved in a crash after their car rear-ended a tow truck while they were traveling to their hometown. Police officer Mehmet Talha Selaldı (24) lost his life in the accident, while the other officer, Yusuf Morcalı, was injured.
In the incident that took place on the Pozantı-Ankara highway near the Akçatekir location, the accident occurred when the vehicle lost steering control and struck a tow truck while the police officers, who were on leave from Istanbul, were traveling.
As the vehicle was reduced to a wreck due to the impact, nearby citizens immediately notified the police and medical teams. Medical teams arriving at the scene transported the injured police officers to the hospital. Unfortunately, despite all interventions, Mehmet Talha Selaldı lost his life, while the treatment of the other police officer, Yusuf Morcalı, is ongoing.
The body of police officer Mehmet Talha Selaldı, who lost his life in the accident, was taken to the Adana Forensic Medicine Institute morgue. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
