In Malatya, a police officer named Murat B. argued with his tenant, who is also a relative, due to a financial dispute.

During the argument, which escalated quickly, police officer Murat B. opened fire on his relatives with his service pistol. 5 people were wounded by the bullets fired from the weapon.

Upon reports from those who heard the gunshots, medical teams arrived at the scene and transported the wounded to hospitals in the city. It was stated that 3 of the wounded were in critical condition.

Following the incident, police officer Murat B. surrendered to his colleagues, while Malatya Provincial Police Chief Arif Çankal also arrived at the scene to conduct an investigation.

Abdullah Ç., Şeref Ç., and Gülhan B., who were among those transported to hospitals in the city by ambulance, could not be saved.
