Police officers fired upon with a pump-action shotgun in Uşak

Police teams responding to a report of domestic violence and a fight on Kurtuluş Street in the Dilaver neighborhood of Uşak's Ulubey district were met with a pump-action shotgun attack from the garden as they arrived at the house. Police officers I.Ş. and E.E.A. were injured as a result of the gunfire.

INJURED POLICE OFFICERS TAKEN TO HOSPITAL

Upon the report, numerous police teams and 112 Emergency Health teams were dispatched to the area. The injured police officers were taken to Uşak Training and Research Hospital after receiving initial intervention at the scene.

SUSPECT CAPTURED IN ABANDONED BUILDING

The suspect who fled after the attack was identified as E.R. (40). While extensive security measures were taken in the area, a comprehensive operation was launched to capture the suspect. During drone-assisted searches, it was determined that the suspect was hiding in an abandoned building in the district center.

When the suspect opened fire again at the teams arriving to apprehend him, special operations police were dispatched to the scene. After approximately 3 hours of efforts, the suspect surrendered as a result of persuasion calls and was taken into custody.

STATEMENT FROM GOVERNOR KARTAL

Uşak Governor Serdar Kartal went to the Ulubey District Police Department and received information from Ulubey District Governor İbrahim Çoşkunaslan, Provincial Police Chief Taner Çiftçi, and Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Özgür Kılıç.

Governor Kartal stated, "Today, we experienced a heinous attack in our Ulubey district. A suspect opened fire from close range with a pump-action shotgun at our police colleagues who were responding to a domestic violence complaint. Since the condition of one of our police officers is somewhat serious, we transferred him to İzmir. Our other colleague was injured in the leg. He has been discharged and is now resting at home. The suspect was also captured alive after being persuaded by our special operations teams. Both our judicial and administrative investigations into this matter are ongoing."
