Police statement on 'sexual assault in custody' allegations
The General Directorate of Security (EGM) has stated that allegations of "sexual assault in custody" appearing on some social media accounts do not reflect the truth and are aimed at discrediting the police force.
The General Directorate of Security (EGM) has issued a statement regarding allegations of "sexual assault in custody."
In a written statement released on the EGM's social media account, it was emphasized that all procedures concerning individuals taken into custody are conducted within a legal framework, and the following statements were included:
"Posts appearing on some social media accounts stating, 'We will talk about women who have been sexually assaulted in custody every day and we will resist this,' are baseless, unfounded, and vile slanders aimed at discrediting our organization. The Turkish Police Service conducts all procedures regarding individuals taken into custody with great diligence and sensitivity, within the framework drawn by the law. Criminal complaints have been filed against those who spread these slanders via social media accounts."
