Pregnant woman and a child killed in horrific accident

The accident occurred on the D130 Highway in the Başiskele district, heading toward İzmit.

PREGNANT WOMAN AND HER CHILD LOST THEIR LIVES

A Honda-brand car entered the wrong way and collided head-on with a Ford-brand vehicle driven by a foreign national, H.A. Both cars were shattered in the horrific accident. Citizens who witnessed the incident notified the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, health, police, fire, and UMKE teams were dispatched to the scene.

Fire crews arrived at the scene in a short time and extracted some of the injured trapped in the vehicles, handing them over to medical teams. It was learned that there were 11 people, including 6 children, in the Ford-brand vehicle. A child and a pregnant woman lost their lives in the accident. A total of 10 people, 5 of whom were children, were also injured.

BODIES TAKEN TO THE MORGUE

While the injured were taken to the hospital, the bodies were moved to the morgue following the crime scene investigation. Due to the accident, the D130 Highway was closed for 2 and a half hours, and vehicle passage was allowed in a controlled manner via alternative routes.

The road was reopened to traffic after the investigations were completed and the vehicles were removed from the road.
