President Erdoğan emphasizes 'family' again: Speech starting with global power centers shifts to the loneliness of the modern individual
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke about the institution of the family and the Israel-Palestine war at the 8th Family Council.
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke today at the 8th Family Council held at the Beştepe People's Congress and Culture Center.
Erdoğan stated, "The family is a sacred structure, and we cannot allow this blessed structure to be tarnished. We will not and cannot permit this. The greatest threat targeting the family in recent times is the gender-neutralization policies encouraged by global power centers. The medium of our national culture and values is the institution of the family. Language is learned in the family, morality is embraced in the family. Faith is acquired in the family. Love is gained in the family. Character is shaped here," he said.
FROM THE MODERN INDIVIDUAL TO THE AGE OF MARRIAGE...
Erdoğan continued his speech as follows:
"The modern individual is lonelier and weaker in the face of life's challenges. Developments have not been able to provide a remedy for the loneliness of the modern individual. With social media, people have become more and more withdrawn and disconnected from society. The age of marriage is rising, and divorce rates are increasing. The number of children is decreasing. For us as Turkey, having a population of 85 million is not enough. We need a larger population. Our world is gradually aging. Turkey and the Turkish nation will absolutely not bow down to global impositions of gender-neutralization. We will not allow our family structure to be dynamited. We are facing a global tyranny where a handful of a radical minority, who silence criticism, grant no right to life for those who object, and suppress those who react economically and politically, are trying to hold billions of people captive."
Regarding the Israel-Palestine war, the President said:
“The attacks on Gaza have long since exceeded the limits of self-defense and have turned into open oppression, cruelty, massacre, and barbarism. The sad part is that those who claim to be civilized, the uncivilized, are merely watching this brutality. The European Commission came out yesterday and said, 'We cannot call for a ceasefire yet.' How many more people need to die, how many more children need to die?
