President Erdoğan holds phone call with UK Prime Minister Starmer
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. During the call, bilateral relations between Turkey and the UK, as well as regional and global issues, were discussed.
During the meeting, President Erdoğan stated that this year's United Nations General Assembly was beneficial in terms of making progress toward a two-state solution in Palestine.
Congratulating UK Prime Minister Starmer on his country's decision to recognize Palestine as a state, President Erdoğan noted that the recognition of Palestine by United Nations Security Council members such as the UK and France is a historic development.
President Erdoğan expressed that it is necessary to maintain the momentum built for supporting Palestine and to stop the Netanyahu government with measures beyond diplomatic pressure.
