Our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, held a phone call with the President of the United States, Donald Trump.
The leaders discussed Turkey-US bilateral relations, the latest situation in Syria, the work of the Gaza Peace Council, commercial relations—particularly in the defense industry—as well as regional and global developments.
During the call, President Erdoğan stated that they would continue to take steps to improve cooperation between Turkey and the US, and that advancing relations in every field is in the mutual interest of both countries.
Our President stated that Turkey attaches great importance to the full implementation of the ceasefire and integration agreement in neighboring Syria, and that they are closely following the process in coordination with US and Syrian authorities.
President Erdoğan expressed his hope that the Gaza Peace Council would achieve successful results, adding that he believes ending the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and rebuilding Gaza will pave the way for lasting peace in our region.
