President Erdoğan speaks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
According to a written statement issued by the Presidency's Directorate of Communications, the bilateral meeting addressed Israel's attacks on Gaza and the latest situation.
During the call, President Erdoğan stated that Israel's decision to bring the entirety of Gaza under military control is absolutely unacceptable, and that Turkey continues its diplomatic efforts to ensure a ceasefire in the region.
Erdoğan noted that the statements from France, the UK, and Canada regarding the potential recognition of the State of Palestine are valuable, that the intensity of criticism toward Israel in the West is increasing, and that Turkey will continue to work for the establishment of lasting peace and stability in the region by standing with Palestine.
