President Erdoğan speaks with Zelensky
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan held a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
During the call, bilateral relations between Turkey and Ukraine, as well as regional and global developments, were discussed.
AKP Chairman and President Erdoğan stated during the meeting that Turkey will continue to exert efforts to ensure a fair and lasting peace between Ukraine and Russia, that Turkey favors the continuation of the talks that began in Istanbul between the delegations of the two countries, and that he is pleased that the prisoner exchange agreed upon during the Istanbul talks was carried out in a short time.
Erdoğan noted that addressing a potential ceasefire in the second round of talks planned to be held in Istanbul would pave the way for peace, and that the participation of both countries in the meeting with strong delegations is important for maintaining the momentum achieved on the path to peace.
President Erdoğan expressed his belief that holding meetings at the leadership level following the completion of the inter-delegation talks would benefit the peace process, and that he believes this should be realized without much delay.
