President Erdoğan: We have fought for all 85 million to feel equal

Erdoğan met with representatives of religious minorities for iftar. Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş were also present at the iftar. President Erdoğan made statements following the meal.

President Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

-Regardless of their origin, belief, or community, we have fought for every single one of the 85 million to feel equal.

-We need to embrace more tightly our tradition that views differences not as a cause for conflict and polarization, but as a source of human richness.

-We will not give an opportunity to those who intend to bring the social tensions recurring in the region into our country, and who try every way to do so.

-We hope that Somalia will strengthen its stability by also protecting the gains it has achieved with the support of our country.

-As a country that has suffered greatly from all forms of terrorism, we stand with Somalia.

-As Turkey, we will continue to provide the necessary contribution for the unity and peace of Somalia.
