President Erdoğan's message to the Israeli government: 'The path you are taking is not the right one': 'Everything is not over yet'
AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made significant statements at the 15th Ambassadors' Conference. While issuing warnings to Israel, Erdoğan also made striking comments regarding the latest situation in Syria.
Key highlights from President Erdoğan's statements:
-I congratulate our Minister of Foreign Affairs and his team for this valuable organization. The "Anadoludakiler" (Those from Anatolia) project, implemented in our 81 provinces, aims to protect our country's geographical and cultural richness. By moving our local products and craft works to digital platforms, the goal is to pass on our cultural treasure to the future.
-The Republic of Türkiye, our latest state on these lands where we find peace under its crescent-and-star flag, has left its 100th year behind. We have stepped into the Century of Türkiye with a brand-new spirit. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has important duties to fulfill the goals we have set for the establishment of peace in our region and the world. We are in a period where multilateral governance mechanisms remain insufficient. Organizations tasked with ensuring peace and security are paving the way for new conflicts with the inert stance they display.
"THEY MUST ALSO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ENSURING PEACE IN GAZA"
-In this negative environment, it is of great importance to place our foreign policy paradigm on a more sustainable ground. We need a culture of consultation more than ever. In international relations, the trend toward multipolarity and regionalization is becoming increasingly prominent. Crises and conflicts threaten peace and stability. A historic responsibility falls upon the Turkish foreign service and its members to end massacres, especially in our immediate geographies. The massacre in Gaza could not be prevented. Israel adds a new one to its attacks every day.
-Security cannot be achieved by raining more bombs on the heads of innocent civilians. The path that the Israeli government stubbornly follows is not the right one. This situation also applies to Syria. We have been emphasizing for 14 months that an opportunity must be given for the establishment of a permanent ceasefire and peace.
-Global powers with influence over the Israeli government must also take responsibility for ensuring peace in Gaza.
-The Assad regime fled Syria, leaving behind a massive wreckage full of massacres and destruction. The oppressors have lost, and the oppressed have won once again. The evil that has lasted for 61 years with blood and tears has come to an end. Hopefully, the most difficult period in this country has been left behind as of Sunday.
"EVERYTHING IS NOT OVER YET IN SYRIA"
-When the massacres began, Türkiye opened both its doors and its heart to its Syrian brothers and sisters. The righteousness of the humanitarian policy it has pursued with determination for 13 years has been registered.
-The images of brutality reflected from Syrian prisons reveal why the Syrian people had to leave their homes and why they did not trust the amnesty declaration. Everything is not over yet in Syria. We are facing many challenges. Our wish is for the Syrian people to continue their path with an understanding that embraces all segments of society. The territorial integrity of Iraq, just like Syria, is very important to us. Our joint work against the PKK terrorist organization, which threatens the security and survival of both countries, continues. The appointment of an experienced Turkish ambassador to the OSCE Secretary General position will facilitate our work in peace efforts.
-We want the historic opportunity provided by the Karabakh War to be crowned with a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. I believe that our foreign service will continue its work for the peace and security of our region successfully.
"WE NEED TO KEEP UP WITH THE TIMES"
-The scope of the national security field has expanded due to threats emerging in different areas. Türkiye is strong in combating all these threats and challenges. The number of threats we face makes it necessary for us to be vigilant and produce rapid solutions.
-Even though our goals and ideals are great, we also possess the capability to realize them. However, it is essential that we continuously develop this capacity and capability and carry it to further points. We need to keep up with the times before anyone else. Our state and nation have high expectations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
-Our Ministry of Foreign Affairs is among the units most targeted by terrorists. I wish God's mercy upon all our martyred diplomats.
