President Erdoğan takes a jab at Özel in post-cabinet meeting statement: 'We had given him a chance'

The Cabinet Meeting, which began at 15:45 at the Presidential Complex, has concluded. President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced the decisions taken after the meeting.

President Erdoğan's statements are as follows:

Today, we are marking the 23rd anniversary of the November 3, 2002 elections. We are leaving our 23rd year in power behind with pride and honor, and we are beginning our 24th year. We are experiencing the justified pride of setting a new record in our multi-party democratic history.

I would like to thank every single member of our beloved nation who has not withheld their support and prayers from us in all the elections we have entered. We carry the same excitement, enthusiasm, and pride in our very cells as we did 23 years ago when we first received the favor of our nation at the ballot box.

WE ARE DEFENDING OUR NATION'S RIGHTS IN THE STRONGEST POSSIBLE WAY

As the Presidential Cabinet, we continue our struggle to build the Century of Türkiye with an intense agenda both at home and abroad. In all the meetings we attend and every country we visit, we defend the rights of our beloved nation in the strongest possible way. We have personally witnessed the reality of a growing and strengthening Türkiye both domestically and internationally.

HE HUMILIATED A CENTURY-OLD PARTY

We gifted our domestic electric car, TOGG, to the Emir of Kuwait and the Sultan of Oman.

While the leader of the main opposition party spends his nights at the doors of Europe to complain about his country, we are turning Türkiye into a center of attraction for the region. Frankly, we had given the new chairman a chance at the initial stage.

We were hopeful about his promise to 'be a party for Türkiye' abroad when he took office. However, like his other commitments, the chairman could not stand behind this one either. He took the fleeting debates of domestic politics abroad.

In order to receive a few rounds of applause, hear a few words of praise, and gain support from a few marginal types, he humiliated both a century-old party and himself in front of foreigners.

He still insists on conducting politics along this erroneous line. I believe that he, too, will realize the wrongness of this path in a short time, God willing.

WE WILL PRODUCE 500 THOUSAND SOCIAL HOUSING UNITS IN OUR 81 PROVINCES

We held the introduction of the largest social housing project in our Republican history in Başakşehir, Istanbul. We will produce a total of 500 thousand social housing units in our 81 provinces. We will build 100 thousand of these in Istanbul. In addition to the construction of 100 thousand residences in Istanbul, we will rent out 15 thousand residences to our citizens under favorable conditions through TOKİ. Applications begin on November 10, 2025. We will hold the draws in December. With God's permission, we will make the first deliveries in March 2027. We will also adorn our cities with neighborhood mansions.

WE MADE THE FIRST DELIVERY OF ALTAY

On October 28, we were once again in the presence of our nation on the occasion of a ceremony that is a source of pride for the Turkish defense industry. We inaugurated the Ankara Tank and New Generation Armored Vehicle Production facility, which is one of the first 3 in Europe and the first 5 in the world. We made the first delivery of our national main battle tank, ALTAY, to our heroic army. Our goal is to place 250 ALTAY tanks at the disposal of the Turkish Armed Forces within 6 years.

KAAN, LIKE HÜRJET, WILL CHALLENGE THE PEAK IN ITS OWN FIELD

While we rapidly implement our domestic and national defense projects, we will strengthen our defense cooperation with our European allies on a win-win basis. We will add our national combat aircraft, KAAN, to the inventory of our Air Force according to the schedule we have set. Just as Hürjet is playing for leadership in its own field, KAAN will also challenge the peak when all processes are completed, God willing.

TÜRKİYE WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE HISTORY

Despite all the overt and covert attempts to obstruct it, Türkiye will continue to make history in the defense industry, God willing. Last Wednesday, we celebrated the 102nd anniversary of the founding of our Republic with pride as a nation. I once again congratulate the Turkish Cypriot people on their October 29 Republic Day, along with our citizens living at home and abroad.
