Principal in Bursa breaks down school assistant's door: Threw her belongings out

School principal Ergin Kaya Kırbıyık at the Bursa Celalettin Öktem Imam Hatip Secondary School, who previously made headlines with remarks such as 'We interfere with students who do not cover their heads,' has now engaged in mobbing against the school's assistant principal.

According to allegations, Kırbıyık kicked in and broke the door of the female assistant principal he did not want at the school and emptied her belongings. The assistant principal recorded the moment second by second and shared it on social media.

REACTION FROM UNIONS

The Eğitim Sen Bursa Branch held a statement in front of the school following the mobbing and the breaking of the office door by Mahmut Celalettin Öktem Imam Hatip Secondary School principal Ergin Kaya Kırbıyık against their member.

The statement made in front of the school was supported by Hürriyetçi Eğitim Sen, Eğitim İş, TÖB-SEN, Eğitim Gücü Sendikası, the Private Sector Teachers' Union, and CHP Bursa Deputy Orhan Sarıbal.

Emphasizing that Doğa Kaycı was appointed to Mahmut Celalettin Öktem IHOO based on her assignment score superiority in the October 25, 2023, First-Time Administrator Assignment to Educational Institutions affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, Eğitim Sen Bursa Branch President Derviş Erdem stated, “School principal Ergin Kaya Kırbıyık, who somehow found our friend's phone number, told her via a WhatsApp message that she should have called and asked him before requesting an appointment, that there was a harmonious staff at the school, that he did not want someone new, and that she should never resign from her old school without speaking to him. The school principal began applying mobbing to our friend, who started her duty on November 6, 2023, openly telling her at every opportunity that he did not want her there, and engaging in behaviors and actions that made this clear. In the very first days, he called her into his office and stated that she should pay attention to her attire, that he was an obsessive person, and that when he targets someone, he targets them viciously. In other words, he openly expressed that he is a vindictive person.”

HE HAD VIRTUALLY DECLARED SHARIA AT THE SCHOOL

In a meeting last month that was also recorded by parents, school principal Kırbıyık was seen saying, “Prayer, headscarves, the Quran, and fasting cannot be debated in this school,” and “We are on the side of Muslims. That is why we interfere with a student who wears shorts, and we also interfere with a student who does not wear a headscarf.” Not hesitating to say at the meeting that they interfere with every aspect of their students, Kırbıyık responded to the parents' criticism that “The oppressive approach affects the children's psychology” by saying, “Parents whose children's psychology is easily disturbed should not come to this school.”
