Privilege decision for Cengiz Holding: Tax exemption is in effect
The area housing the Eti Alüminyum facilities, owned by Cengiz Holding, in Seydişehir, Konya, has been declared a "special industrial zone." The decision brings tax exemptions and various incentives for the company.
Cengiz Holding, which frequently makes headlines for the public tenders it has received during the AKP era, has been granted yet another incentive. A 264.98-hectare area in the Seydişehir district of Konya, where the company's Eti Alüminyum facilities are located, has been declared a "special industrial zone" by presidential decree.
Eti Alüminyum was incorporated into Cengiz Holding as part of the privatization process carried out in 2005. According to information provided by the company, the facilities, which have been operating in Seydişehir for many years, produce aluminum hydroxide, aluminum oxide, and final aluminum products in an integrated manner within the same campus. It is stated that the facility has an annual liquid aluminum production capacity of 82 thousand tons.
SCOPE OF INCENTIVES EXPANDED
The "special industrial zone" status provides investors with various advantages such as tax and fee exemptions, more favorable land opportunities, and expedited licensing and permit processes. Additionally, the President can define further incentives for these regions.
It is known that Cengiz Holding has previously benefited from similar incentive practices for its investments in Mardin and Samsun.
