Pro-government columnist Abdulkadir Selvi makes claims about CHP: ‘New tapes are being discussed…’

The circulation of an explicit video on social media, allegedly belonging to CHP MP Mustafa Sarıgül, has dominated the agenda. In a statement regarding the footage in question, Sarıgül stated that he was the victim of a political conspiracy and had been subjected to a “vile attack.”

Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, known for his proximity to the government, made a striking claim in his column titled "Are tape wars starting in the CHP?"

Selvi commented, “They saw that results were achieved with tapes. They have gotten a taste for eliminating their rivals in intra-party or nationwide struggles using these methods.”

Writing that very important positions have emerged to be shared within the CHP, Abdulkadir Selvi assessed, “With the local elections, the political value of the seats in the CHP has increased. The value of the seats in the CHP has risen in the political bag. Because the possibility of winning has emerged. The hope of coming to power or being elected president has strengthened. When the prize is big, the struggle becomes bloody.”

Writing, “New tapes are being discussed on the path to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayoralty, the CHP Chairmanship, and the presidential candidacy,” Selvi stated, “There is talk of a ‘cleanup’ starting from local administrations. They want to pave the building blocks of the process leading from local administrations to the CHP Headquarters, and from there to the presidential candidacy, with tapes. Some are done to bring certain people to certain places, while others are designed to knock people out of the game.”
