Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, known for his proximity to the government, shared behind-the-scenes information regarding the extraordinary session of the Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) to be held on Friday, August 16, concerning Can Atalay.
The Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) will hold an extraordinary session for Workers' Party of Turkey (TİP) Hatay MP Can Atalay, following the Constitutional Court's (AYM) ruling that the decision to strip him of his parliamentary status is "null and void."
The session, scheduled for Friday, August 16, at 15:00, is expected to include the reading of the Constitutional Court's (AYM) decision regarding Atalay.
As all eyes turn to Friday for Can Atalay, Hürriyet columnist Abdulkadir Selvi, known for his proximity to the government, shared behind-the-scenes information regarding the stance the AKP will take.
Claiming that the AKP will present three justifications, Selvi stated, "It is not expected that he will be released and begin his duties by taking the oath."
Selvi continued as follows:
“I have been trying to explain from the beginning that these matters are a question of climate. If the normalization process had continued, we would be talking about different things today.”
