Prosecutor's opinion announced in Ankara Train Station bombing trial where 101 people lost their lives
Following the Supreme Court of Appeals' reversal decision, the prosecutor's opinion on the merits has been announced in the retrial of 26 defendants, 10 of whom are in custody, regarding the October 10, 2015, terrorist attack carried out by the terrorist organization ISIS in front of the Ankara Train Station, which resulted in the deaths of 101 people.
The hearing held at the Ankara 4th High Criminal Court was attended by the detained defendants via the Audio and Video Information System (SEGBİS) from the prisons where they are held, while the lawyers for the parties were present in the courtroom. The lawyers requested the expansion of the prosecution and that the court evaluate documents concerning public officials who were negligent prior to the terrorist attack.

Following the statements, the prosecutor, announcing their opinion on the merits, requested that defendant Erman Ekici be sentenced to 102 counts of aggravated life imprisonment, one for the crime of "violating the constitutional order" and 101 counts for the "intentional killing of 101 people."
