Public transport in Istanbul will be free during Eid al-Adha
During the holiday, Istanbulkart holders will be able to use public transport vehicles for free, and additional services will be provided to offer convenience to Istanbul residents.
During Eid al-Adha, public transport in Istanbul will be free of charge for holders of personalized Istanbulkart. With the implementation to be carried out across the city for the holiday, all measures have been taken to ensure that citizens have a safe and comfortable journey.
Within the scope of the application, which will be valid between May 27 and 30, no fees will be charged for bus, metro, tram, and ferry services operated by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. As of the first day of the holiday, Sunday schedules will be in effect on Metro Istanbul AŞ lines; on the following days, the Saturday schedule will be used. In addition, night metro services will continue uninterrupted on Friday-Saturday and Saturday-Sunday nights.
As a precaution against passenger density in crowded parts of Istanbul, IETT, Metro Istanbul, and City Lines will organize additional services. Additional buses and services will be deployed as needed in areas where congestion is likely to occur.
On the other hand, convenience is also being provided regarding transportation to livestock sale and slaughter areas. IETT buses will provide service to the livestock areas in Alibeyköy, Ferhatpaşa, and Paşaköy on 15 different lines. Lines numbered TM11, TM17, TM6, and TM8 in Alibeyköy; and lines 14KS, 18UK, 19YK, 320A, and 320Y in Ferhatpaşa will be at the service of Istanbul residents.
It is possible to reach the livestock area in Paşaköy with buses numbered 132M, 18M, SM3, UM74, and SM6. Furthermore, for citizens who wish to reach the Pendik Kurnaköy Livestock Market, the KRB3 line has been in operation as of May 20.
