Public transport in Istanbul will be free on January 1. Metro Istanbul has announced that it has adjusted its schedules for New Year's Eve, with 10 metro lines remaining open until morning on the night connecting December 31 to January 1.

The transport service that will operate until morning on New Year's Eve will cover the following 10 lines:

Yenikapı-Hacıosman

Kirazlı-Kayaşehir Merkez

Kadıköy-Sabiha Gökçen Airport

Bostancı-Dudullu/Parseller

Bahariye-Olimpiyat

Additionally, due to the New Year, services on the Kabataş-Bağcılar, Kadıköy-Moda, Topkapı-Mescidi Selam, Eminönü-Alibeyköy tram lines, and the Taksim-Kabataş and Boğaziçi University-Hisarüstü-Aşiyan funicular lines have been extended until 02:00.
