Public Transportation Free in Istanbul on August 30 Victory Day
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) will offer 24-hour free public transportation to holders of personalized Istanbulkarts on August 30 Victory Day.
Public transportation services will be provided free of charge in Istanbul on August 30 Victory Day.
In a statement from the İBB, it was announced that public transportation vehicles included in the city's Istanbulkart fare integration system—such as buses, metrobuses, trams, subways, and ferries—will provide free service for 24 hours on August 30.
The statement noted that holders of personalized Istanbulkarts will be able to benefit from the free travel.
It was reported that this practice has been in place since 2019, in accordance with a decision taken by the İBB Assembly to allow Istanbul residents to use public transportation vehicles free of charge on official days, as well as national and religious holidays.
