Public under 'detention' for NATO

Security measures targeting the public are increasing in line with the NATO Summit planned to be held in Ankara on July 7-8.
While there is talk of extending the detention periods until the end of the summit for hundreds of people, including 12 lawyers, who were detained as part of anti-NATO protests, the radical security measures taken in response to such actions are being reflected as pressure on society.
According to information obtained by 12punto, new cameras have been installed on Kızılırmak Street and at the intersection of Selanik Street and Meşrutiyet Street.
The implementation of these measures before the NATO Summit is seen by some as evidence of the state providing a method of "exposure to an imperialist war organization."
On the other hand, the new cameras installed on Yüksel Street today reveal that Kızılay is being surrounded along its main lines, while the fact that police teams kept watch around the area for a long time drew attention.
