Reaction from former AKP Minister of Youth and Sports Kasapoğlu to FIFA
Former Minister of Youth and Sports and AKP İzmir Deputy Dr. Mehmet Kasapoğlu reacted to FIFA President Gianni Infantino's remarks that "football cannot solve geopolitical problems" in response to calls for Israel to be banned from international competitions due to the genocide in Gaza, citing past decisions as examples.
In a statement on his social media account, Dr. Kasapoğlu said, "What is happening in Gaza is not a geopolitical problem, but a registered genocide carried out by Israel.
What falls to FIFA, in light of past ban decisions and in line with the expectations of the global sports community, is to immediately ban Israel from all tournaments and protect the unifying spirit of football.
