Reaction from Ümit Özdağ to Demirtaş: He shared those images!

MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli's statement that "the release of Selahattin Demirtaş will be beneficial for Turkey" has become a central topic on the political agenda.

Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ, following these remarks by Bahçeli, clarified his party's stance against Selahattin Demirtaş.

In a post on his social media account, Özdağ emphasized that Selahattin Demirtaş is not innocent.

He used the following expressions in his post:

“Selahattin Demirtaş has used both politics and the terrorist organization to destroy the national, unitary, and secular Republic of Turkey.

During the PKK/YPG's Ayn al-Arab/Kobani events, Demirtaş called PKK/HDP supporters to the streets to support the PKK/YPG. In the incidents that occurred in dozens of our provinces and hundreds of our districts, dozens of people died and hundreds were injured.

Demirtaş is not innocent. He is neither innocent regarding the Kobani events nor is he innocent regarding his support for PKK terrorism.

For the Zafer Party, this is the extent of the political and legal dimension of the matter.”

In his next post, Özdağ shared a collage video prepared from Demirtaş's past statements and added the following note:

“We have not forgotten, and we will not let it be forgotten, the political understanding of Selahattin Demirtaş—who is presented as an 'angel of peace' and called humane because he plays the saz (Hitler was also a painter)—which feeds on violence and terror, and how he poured terrorist organization supporters into the streets during the 'Kobani' events, leading to the death of dozens of people and the injury of hundreds.”
