Zafer Party Chairman Ümit Özdağ was detained in Ankara on allegations of insulting AKP Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan during his party's provincial chairmen meeting in Antalya. Detained for insulting the President, Özdağ was arrested for "publicly inciting the people to hatred and enmity" and sent to Silivri Prison.
REASON FOR CANCELLATION OF THE VISIT REVEALED
It had been announced that IYI Party Chairman Müsavat Dervişoğlu would go to Silivri Prison today (January 30) to visit Zafer Party leader Ümit Özdağ. However, Dervişoğlu's visit to Özdağ was cancelled.
According to information obtained, it was learned that Dervişoğlu, who has influenza (the flu), cancelled the visit to Özdağ to avoid transmitting the illness.
It was noted that the visit will take place at a later date.
