Reinstatement of Lieutenant Deniz Demirtaş, dismissed from the TSK, suspended

The reinstatement decision for Lieutenant Deniz Demirtaş, who was dismissed from the Turkish Armed Forces following the chanting of the slogan "We are Mustafa Kemal's soldiers" at the graduation ceremony held at the Military Academy, has been temporarily suspended upon the application of the Ministry of National Defense.

Previously, the Ankara 21st Administrative Court had ruled unanimously to cancel Demirtaş's dismissal and allow him to return to duty. In accordance with this decision, Demirtaş had resumed his duties on March 13.

However, following the ministry's appeal against the decision, the process of returning to duty was halted. The file is currently at the appellate court, and the final decision will be made during the appellate stage. The status of Demirtaş and four other lieutenants in similar situations remains uncertain.

During the court process, it will not be possible for Lieutenant Demirtaş to continue his duties until the decision is finalized. The decision to be made by the appellate court at the end of the process will determine the future of both Demirtaş and other officers dismissed in a similar manner.
