Remarkable 'Right to Hope' statement from MHP: 'Regardless of political views'
MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız stated at the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee that the right to hope should be applied to all sick prisoners regardless of their political views. Yıldız said, "The right to hope is a major obstacle before us in international courts regarding the extradition of criminals."
He delivered a speech during the Ministry of Justice budget negotiations at the TBMM Planning and Budget Committee.
MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız stated that sick prisoners should be released regardless of their political views.
Intervening during the speech of DEM Erzurum MP Meral Danış Beştaş, MHP's Yıldız also expressed that the "right to hope" should be implemented.
Yıldız said, "The right to hope is a major obstacle before us in international courts regarding the extradition of criminals."
'THEY SHOULD BE HELD IN PRISONS CLOSE TO THEIR HOMES'
Stating that prison infirmaries should be brought up to the same standards as hospitals, Yıldız said the following:
"Furthermore, they should be held in prisons close to their homes. Elderly and sick convicts who are unable to sustain their lives on their own should have their sentences postponed in line with scientific data, regardless of their political beliefs, and they should be restored to health."
