Response from the General Directorate of Security to Murat Ağırel's allegations: 'Police officer dismissed'

The General Directorate of Security has issued a statement regarding the allegations shared by journalist Murat Ağırel on social media platforms titled "Police catch a drug dealer red-handed. Who is the dealer? A police officer." 

As a result of the investigation, it was stated that the incident took place in Istanbul on October 8, 2019, and that proceedings were initiated against the suspect police officer, B.D.

The statement indicated that the police officer in question was dismissed from the profession following the investigation. The General Directorate of Security emphasized that it was informing the public, that the matter was closed, and that the judicial process was ongoing.
