Restrictions on public events in Ankara for NATO Summit

Ahead of the NATO Summit to be held in Ankara on July 7-8, 2026, significant preparatory steps have been taken to ensure there are no disruptions to security and public services. In a notice sent to relevant state units by the Presidential Secretariat, it was announced that public personnel in certain districts of the capital will be on administrative leave during the week of July 6-12.

In this context, employees in public institutions located in the Altındağ, Çankaya, Etimesgut, Gölbaşı, Keçiören, Mamak, Pursaklar, Sincan, and Yenimahalle districts will be considered on administrative leave, except for those who will be actively serving at the summit and those providing critical services. A separate work plan will be followed for areas such as health, security, transportation, infrastructure, communications, firefighting, and disaster and emergency services.

Furthermore, throughout the week of the summit, no exams, panels, symposiums, concerts, festivals, graduation ceremonies, or similar mass organizations will be held across Ankara. It has been requested that all planning for such events be postponed.

All public institutions have been tasked with providing the necessary support and facilities during the summit. Administrative managers and relevant units have also been requested to take additional measures to ensure that no disruptions occur during the summit.

The official letter, signed by Presidential Secretary-General Hakkı Susmaz, has been distributed to all relevant state institutions.
