Returns from holiday have begun, roads are gridlocked

Holidaymakers who spent the Eid al-Adha holiday outside their home cities or in coastal regions have hit the roads to return home, turning Kırıkkale into a major traffic hub. In the city, which holds a critical position in Turkey's highway transportation network, vehicle traffic on major intercity arteries has increased visibly.

At the points where the Ankara-Samsun D-200 and Kırıkkale-Kayseri D-765 routes intersect, the vehicle density has caused difficult moments for drivers, especially since the evening hours. At times, the flow of traffic slowed down, and long queues of vehicles formed.

It was stated that traffic on the highways passing through the city is proceeding in a controlled manner due to the vehicles heading toward Ankara. The traffic flow in the region was also recorded from the air, and the congestion was clearly captured on camera.
