Revealed during expert inspection: Two vehicles welded together!

In an incident in Istanbul's Sultangazi district, a person who bought a car from a friend before the Ramadan Feast became suspicious of the vehicle and sought an expert inspection. As a result of the detailed examination, it was determined that the car was created from two separate vehicles.

THE TRUTH REVEALED IN INSPECTION

Enes Morkoç, who performed the expert inspection, stated that the vehicle was first subjected to body and paint checks. Morkoç expressed that during the inspection, they encountered signs of cutting and welding on the front windshield pillars.

Stating that the floor upholstery of the vehicle was removed due to increasing suspicions, Morkoç shared the following information:

“Upon our suspicions, when we removed the floor upholstery of the vehicle, we saw that the car had been cut in half and joined with another vehicle.”

“IMPOSSIBLE TO TELL FROM THE OUTSIDE”

Stating that the vehicle was prepared with very professional workmanship, Enes Morkoç emphasized that it is impossible for such situations to be noticed from the outside.

Drawing attention to the increase in vehicle sales, especially before the holiday, Morkoç issued the following warnings:

“Do not act by trusting your spouse, friend, or relative. As seen in this vehicle, very professional workmanship has been done. It is absolutely impossible for an ordinary citizen to understand this by looking at it from the outside. No matter what, definitely have it go through an expert inspection.”

WARNING FROM CAR DEALERS

In his statement following the incident, Mustafa Tosun stated that similar cases occur from time to time. Tosun expressed that the vehicle in question was identified as a “change” vehicle during the expert inspection.

“We encounter such situations. Especially in sales made between individuals before the holiday, grievances can occur,” said Tosun, adding that this risk is lower in vehicles that have passed through dealer controls.

Stating that such vehicles can be intervened with, Mustafa Tosun used the following expressions:

“We can directly seize such vehicles. Our police are also doing what is necessary regarding this.”

“IT IS DONE IN AN ORGANIZED MANNER”

Tosun stated that processes such as dismantling and rejoining vehicles are not carried out individually, but in an organized manner. He said that such vehicles can pass through notary sales and can sometimes pass through expert inspections without being noticed.

Stating that methods such as combining parts of other vehicles or using information from vehicles rented from abroad are encountered, Tosun expressed that these situations can only be understood by experts.

Issuing warnings to citizens who will buy vehicles, Mustafa Tosun emphasized that shopping should be done from reliable places.

Tosun said, “Drivers must definitely buy from a reliable place when purchasing a vehicle. A check should be performed with a reliable expert. A vehicle carries lives, and for this reason, it is of great importance.”
