Revealed in Court of Accounts report: Palace's daily expenses exceed 15 million liras

The Presidency's budget, increased with additional appropriations, was raised to 5 billion 614 million liras. The Palace's annual expenses exceeded 5 billion 669 million liras. Thus, the Palace's daily cost increased by 52.7 percent in one year, reaching 15 million 533 thousand 688 liras.

Revealed in Court of Accounts report: Palace's daily expenses exceed 15 million liras

The Court of Accounts published its report regarding the Presidency following audits conducted last year. However, unlike in previous years, the details of expenditure items were hidden in the reports published this year.

The report did not include details on expenses such as representation, stationery, cleaning, plant maintenance, medical supplies, and vehicle maintenance. The Palace's material procurement item reached a total of 3 billion 28 million liras in one year.

In the Court of Accounts' 2022 report, it was stated that 3 billion 890 million 381 thousand liras were allocated to the Presidency from the budget last year, and this amount rose to 5 billion 614 million 842 thousand liras with additional payments made during the year.

According to the report by Sözcü newspaper; it was noted in the report that 5 billion 363 million 433 thousand liras were spent from this appropriation. However, it was determined in the financial statements that the total expenditure increased by 306 million 362 thousand liras to 5 billion 669 million 796 thousand liras. Accordingly, the Presidency exceeded the allocated budget amount by 54 million 653 thousand liras.

The report noted that 613 million 467 thousand liras of these expenditures were personnel expenses, 72 million liras were SGK (Social Security Institution) expenses, 2 billion 804 million liras were goods and services expenses, 223 million 898 thousand liras were raw material and supply expenses, 964 million 995 thousand liras were current transfers, 216 million 825 thousand 786 liras were depreciation expenses, 393 thousand liras were expenses arising from assets transferred to public administrations, and 773 million 496 thousand liras were current expenses made within the scope of projects, totaling 5 billion 669 million 796 thousand liras in expenditures.

According to the Court of Accounts report, the Presidency made 3 billion 710 million 801 thousand liras in expenditures in 2021, and its daily cost was 10 million 166 thousand liras. Thus, there was a 52.7 percent increase in the Palace's expenditures in one year.
