Robbery attack on jeweler! They stole 9 million in foreign currency, gold, and lira and fled

B.B., a jeweler in Maltepe, was attacked by robbers who had set an ambush at the Marmaray station where he arrived to transfer money and gold.

The attackers stole approximately 9 million liras worth of foreign currency, gold, and Turkish lira before fleeing.

During the struggle between B.B. and the robbers, one of the suspects lost his shoe. While the suspects were caught and taken into custody, the moment of the incident was captured second by second on a business's security cameras.

In the incident that took place on September 12 in the İdealtepe neighborhood of Maltepe, it is alleged that B.B., who works as a jeweler, would take gold and money to the Grand Bazaar via Marmaray once a week. On the day of the incident, he arrived at the İdealtepe Marmaray station with bags containing approximately 9 million liras worth of gold, foreign currency, and cash.
As he was unloading the bags from his vehicle, a car that had arrived and parked some time earlier moved and pulled up next to him. The robbers who got out grabbed the man, while another took the money and gold and put them into the vehicle.
One of the robbers lost his shoe during the struggle with B.B., but they got into the vehicle and fled. Upon notification, teams from the Public Security Branch Office's Robbery Bureau launched an investigation.
The shoe found at the scene served as a clue in the investigation. The experienced detectives of the Robbery Bureau identified one of the suspects starting from that shoe. In light of the information obtained and 220 hours of camera footage examined from 85 different locations, the identities of the suspects were determined one by one.
The Robbery Bureau teams conducted an operation on the addresses where the suspects were located the other day.
During the operation, suspects İbrahim E. (27), Cihan U. (27), and Ferhat E. (29) were taken into custody. The detained suspects were referred to the courthouse following their processing at the Public Security Branch Office's Robbery Bureau. The moment of the incident was reflected second by second on surrounding security cameras. In the footage, the parked vehicle moves as soon as the bags full of money are unloaded, and they suddenly attack, take the money, and flee.
