RTÜK President responds to Mansur Yavaş regarding Altınok

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş had claimed in his speech at an iftar program in Elmadağ yesterday that the daughters of AKP ABB mayoral candidate Turgut Altınok began working as civil servants at RTÜK without taking the KPSS exam. 

Following these allegations, Altınok said in a statement today, "Let him explain the partners of the company he set up for his daughter in London. Ask him with what money he bought the apartment in London."

RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin also stated in a post on his social media account today that no unfair, non-competitive, or irregular procedures have been carried out for the relatives of any political figure or bureaucrat. 

Şahin's statement is as follows: 

"With very little time left until the March 31, 2024 local elections, the effort by some candidates and certain media organizations to create a perception through our institution and its employees by publishing baseless and unfounded allegations as if they were true is unacceptable.

All appointments made at RTÜK and all transfers to our Supreme Council from other public institutions have been carried out in accordance with the procedures determined by the relevant Law for 30 years. The appointments made are carried out as a requirement of the services provided.

No unfair, non-competitive, or irregular procedures have been carried out for the relatives of any political figure or bureaucrat. We will not allow those who have nothing to say and no achievements to explain during the election period to attempt to create a false and misleading perception through our institution."
