RTÜK President Şahin responds to 'hired his brother-in-law' claim: Gossip and lies, we will see each other in court
RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin denied allegations that he hired his brother-in-law and appointed his brother-in-law as a Deputy Department Head. Making a statement on social media, Şahin stated that he would initiate legal action against the journalist who reported the story.
RTÜK President Ebubekir Şahin denied allegations that he hired his brother-in-law at RTÜK, appointed his brother-in-law as a Deputy Department Head, and that his wife receives a salary from TRT without going to work.
Tagging the journalist who reported the story on his social media account, Şahin wrote, "You have added a new one to the many lawsuits already filed against you due to your false and incorrect news."
Stating that "the so-called news about me is full of lies, slander, and gossip," Şahin declared, "We will see each other in court."
WHAT HAPPENED?
According to a report by İsmail Arı from BirGün, Bülent Şenkardeşler, the brother of Ebubekir Şahin's wife Nalan Şahin, was appointed as Deputy Head of the Information Technologies Department at RTÜK one month ago. In response to questions from the BirGün reporter, Şenkardeşler stated that he previously served as a civil servant at the Supreme Election Council (YSK) and later transferred to RTÜK. Şenkardeşler noted that he became a Deputy Department Head one month ago.
It was also alleged that Ebubekir Şahin's brother-in-law, Hasan Taşkın, works at RTÜK. Taşkın left the questions unanswered.
