Samsun leg of the Grand Bazaar investigation: 3 suspects referred to the courthouse
Three suspects detained in Samsun as part of the Grand Bazaar investigation, conducted under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office into the laundering of assets derived from crime, have been referred to the courthouse following their processing at the police station. It was reported that the suspects will provide their statements to the Istanbul Courthouse via the SEGBİS video conferencing system.
As part of the investigation conducted under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, simultaneous operations were carried out on Tuesday morning in 15 provinces—Istanbul, Samsun, Ankara, Adana, Bursa, Gaziantep, Rize, Şırnak, Şanlıurfa, Osmaniye, Manisa, Sakarya, Kayseri, Kırıkkale, and Muğla—targeting the crime of 'laundering assets derived from crime.' Efforts were made to apprehend a total of 80 suspects during the operation.
Within the scope of the operation, 3 people, including 1 woman, were detained in Samsun by teams from the Samsun Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch. The 3 suspects, whose processing at the KOM Branch was completed, were referred to the Samsun Courthouse today.
It was learned that the suspects will provide their statements from the Samsun Courthouse to the Istanbul Courthouse via the Audio and Visual Information System (SEGBİS).
