School bus collides with semi-truck in Balıkesir: 8 students critically injured

A school bus collided with a semi-truck in the Pamukçu area of central Balıkesir. It was reported that there were 29 passengers in the vehicle, 27 of whom were students.

The accident occurred at 08:53 in the morning when a school shuttle bus transporting students from Nergis Neighborhood to Pamukçu Primary School collided with a semi-truck.

The school shuttle bus with license plate 10 S 00206, driven by Ahmet Ç., collided with the semi-truck with license plate 34 BOL 861, driven by Furkan S., in the Pamukçu area. The impact of the collision caused the school bus to overturn.

It was announced that 26 people were injured in the accident, 8 of them critically.

Balıkesir Governor İsmail Ustaoğlu stated, "A two-vehicle traffic accident occurred in the Pamukçu area of central Balıkesir on 25.12.2024 at approximately 08:53, involving a school bus carrying a total of 29 passengers, 27 of whom were students, and a semi-truck. According to initial findings, 8 of our students are in critical condition. All of our students have been transferred to hospitals, and further information will be provided as developments occur."
