According to a written statement from the Hakkari Governorship, schools have been declared closed for one day due to heavy snowfall expected to begin at night. The statement from the Governorship is as follows:

"Republic of Turkey Hakkari Governorship

Due to heavy precipitation (regionally snow and rain) that will begin during the night hours across our province and continue to be effective in the morning, and taking into account risks such as flooding, avalanches, overflows, and blizzards, education and training in all preschools, kindergartens, primary and secondary education institutions, as well as private teaching courses, public education centers, and guidance and research centers, excluding higher education institutions, have been suspended for one day on Friday, 22.03.2024, throughout our province.

Pregnant and disabled personnel working in public institutions will also be considered on administrative leave on the aforementioned date.
