Seçil Erzan instructs her lawyer, this time she is the 'plaintiff'

Seçil Erzan, the former branch manager of Denizbank who faces decades in prison on allegations of defrauding numerous people, including professional football players, is preparing to file a lawsuit against Denizbank A.Ş., where she worked for 23 years, claiming that her employment contract was terminated unlawfully and that her severance pay was not paid.

According to a report by Özge Eğrikar from Hürriyet, Seçil Erzan, who is currently detained at Marmara Prison in Silivri, has applied to the Mediation Center in Çağlayan through her lawyer, Bülent Aybirdi, demanding the payment of her seniority and notice indemnity for the period between October 25, 2000, and April 10, 2023, during which she served as a branch manager at Denizbank.

"SHE WAS ARRESTED DUE TO A SCHEME SET UP BY THE BANK"

Arguing in the petition that his client was arrested due to a scheme set up by Denizbank, Aybirdi requested that their application be processed if both parties reach an agreement with a joint mediator in the mandatory mediation process.

Lawyer Aybirdi stated: “Denizbank detained my client through illegal means and subjected her to interrogation. As if that were not enough, they terminated Seçil Erzan’s employment contract without adhering to the time limits and procedures stipulated in the Labor Law.

Denizbank chose not to pay the severance pay that my client is entitled to. We have initiated legal proceedings to secure Seçil Erzan’s right to compensation."
