A second arrest warrant has been issued for Ayhan Bora Kaplan, who is alleged to have been close to former Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu and is already in custody on charges of establishing a criminal organization.
According to a report by Asuman Aranca from T24, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued arrest warrants last Tuesday for 36 people across 5 provinces, including Ayhan Bora Kaplan's ex-wife, girlfriend, and sister, as part of an investigation into "laundering assets derived from crime." In this context, 21 people were detained and taken to the police station. Among those for whom detention warrants were issued were Ayhan Bora Kaplan, who is accused of being the leader of the organization and is currently in custody for that reason, Fethi Koyuncu, who is alleged to be an organization executive, and former AKP Ankara Provincial Executive Barış Kurt.
The detained individuals were brought to the courthouse today following police processing and were questioned by the investigation prosecutor. Following their statements at the prosecutor's office, 16 suspects, including Kaplan, were referred to the criminal judgeship of peace with a request for arrest.
