Second letter from terrorist leader Öcalan shared with the public: He sent an 8 March message

Following the meeting held by the Imralı Delegation on February 27, terrorist organization leader Abdullah Öcalan, who had previously called for the dissolution of the PKK, sent a message regarding International Women's Day on March 8. The letter was read at a rally held in Diyarbakır by Suzan Akipa, one of the lawyers from the Asrın Law Office.

In the letter announced to the public by the DEM Party, terrorist leader Öcalan celebrated International Women's Day on March 8. In his letter, Öcalan stated that the women's issue is deeper and more deep-rooted than the Kurdish issue, expressing that the culture of war and conflict targets women most of all. Öcalan used the phrases, 'Woman is the universe itself; man is a deviation from it.'

The following messages were given in Öcalan's letter:

''The women's issue is a deeper issue than the Kurdish issue. There is a women's issue that is deeper and more deep-rooted than the Kurdish issue. We have only made a small beginning of this. The culture of war and conflict is directed primarily at women. Pushing back this culture, even if only slightly, is the dynamo of the struggle. The spirit of the era is democratic politics; its language is the language of peace.

I am aware that you are experiencing the reality of humanity in all its nakedness in the lands that gave birth to woman. This state of life with you, whose fascinating value I have never abandoned, has probably been my fundamental life principle that keeps me standing. Its magnificent and free reality will be at least as much of a first for Mesopotamia as the others, in fact, it already has been.''

'SACREDNESS BELONGS TO WOMAN'

''The issue of women's freedom retains all its importance. The democratic communalist process is the updated version of the mother-woman sociality. Social reality can only be reached through this method. Unless the culture of rape is overcome, social truth will not be revealed in the fields of philosophy, science, aesthetics, ethics, and religion. Unless the male-dominant culture buried deep in the society of the new era is destroyed, as Marxism also proved, the success of socialism will not be possible. One reaches socialism through women's freedom. Without women's freedom, one cannot be a socialist, and there can be no socialism. One cannot reach socialism without democracy. My first test with socialism is knowing how to talk to a woman. One who does not know how to talk to a woman cannot be a socialist. A man's socialism is related to the way he establishes a relationship with a woman.

Sacredness belongs to woman. Woman is the universe itself; man is a deviation from it, a deviated planet. It is the woman who first produced language to call out to the child. It is also the woman who produced culture. It is also the woman who ensured the birth of society. Sacredness and divinity belong to her.''

'I DEVELOPED AN IDEOLOGY FOR WOMEN'

''I have developed a four-layered women's liberation ideology for women. It is a theory. The mother-woman culture, the age of the goddess, is between 10,000 and 4,000 B.C. Monotheistic religions begin with Babylon. The Babylonian epic is the epic of the enslavement of women. The Babylonian creation epic is one of the cornerstones of Mesopotamian mythology. Between 4,000 and 2,000 B.C., the women's culture began to lose.

After the mother-woman culture was destroyed, the palace woman was born along with the Mitanni. Nefertiti is a palace woman. I am not against marriage and love, but terrible murders are committed every day in the name of love. Does a person kill the person they love? This is not love. It is known that many women committed suicide because of these relationships.

There is also a free woman culture. You are close to this culture now. Women are trying to transcend being a mother, being a wife. However, you are still managing with 10 percent of the freedom culture. The essential thing is to fight the mentality. The male-dominant social structure creates many problems for women. There is violence, there is exploitation, there is incest, there is rape, girls are open to being killed. What will you do when children are killed tomorrow or the next day? This is what I mean when I talk about Sati culture. You will fight this culture, this mentality. You have such residues. You need to be purified from these residues.

The women's issue is a deeper issue than the Kurdish issue. There is a women's issue that is deeper and more deep-rooted than the Kurdish issue. We have only made a small beginning of this. The culture of war and conflict is directed primarily at women. Pushing back this culture, even if only slightly, is the dynamo of the struggle.

The spirit of the era is democratic politics; its language is the language of peace. The Call for Peace and Democratic Society is also a Renaissance for women.
