Second review by the court in the IMM case: Detention of 105 people, including İmamoğlu, to continue
A detention review was conducted in the IMM case regarding individuals including Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu.
The second detention review has been conducted in the IMM case, which includes Istanbul MetropolitanMunicipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been in detention since March 23 and faces up to 2,352 years in prison.
The Istanbul 40th High Criminal Court decided to continue the detention of 105 individuals separately. The detention review was carried out by a panel consisting of new members.
FACING UP TO 2,357 YEARS IN PRISON
Following a dawn raid on March 19, 2025, thetaken into custody, Ekrem İmamoğlu, on the day of the Presidential Candidacy Primary Election, on March 23, was arrested and sent to Marmara Prison in Silivri.
Regarding the IMM investigationIn the approximately 4,000-page indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office as part of the investigation, a prison sentence of up to 2,357 years is being sought for İmamoğlu.
The first hearing of the case will beheld on March 9, 2026.
