Selma Ateş rebels to 12punto: 'They have written a very good script and they are acting it out'

The trial of 22 defendants regarding the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları President Sinan Ateş continues at the Ankara 32nd High Criminal Court. The presiding judge, who collected requests at the beginning of the hearing, rejected the MHP's request to participate. 

12punto captured the first images of Sinan Ateş's mother, Saniye Ateş, at the courthouse.

Defendant Eray Özyağcı changed the statement he gave to the police and the prosecutor's office, claiming that Doğukan Çep had incited him. When asked by the presiding judge, "Did you incite him?", Doğukan Çep replied, "I incited him."

Sinan Ateş's sister, Selma Ateş, reacted to the defendants' defenses and spoke to 12punto. Continuing her remarks on their demand for justice for Sinan Ateş, Selma Ateş said:

“We noticed that none of the defendants we listened to in the hearing know each other. But I think they are all experiencing a mental block. Even though they all forgot their phone passwords, none of them know each other. Doğukan Çep says he has no money but is constantly going on vacation to Bodrum. Then he says he gave 600 thousand liras to Sinan Ateş. What is there that would bring Sinan Ateş and Doğukan Çep together? It was likely going to be done at the mosque where Sinan Ateş was going to be. I know that. Because they couldn't do anything to Sinan Ateş there, they reached this point by using the police and the MIT to locate him in many places afterward. They have all written a very good script and they are acting out this script. Turkish justice is truly very strong. Doğukan Çep has given statements 19 times. None of the 19 statements align with his statement today. We will continue to call for justice for Sinan Ateş.”
