Şenol Aslanoğlu detained again in İZBETON investigation
Former CHP İzmir Provincial Chair Şenol Aslanoğlu has been detained again just days before the hearing in the corruption investigation into İZBETON, a subsidiary of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality.
Former CHP İzmir Provincial Chair Şenol Aslanoğlu, who was previously arrested and subsequently released in the investigation into 'corruption' allegations at İZBETON, one of the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality companies—known publicly as the 'cooperative case'—has been detained.
DETAINED DAYS BEFORE THE HEARING
It has been learned that Aslanoğlu was detained again just days before the 4th hearing of the case, which is scheduled to be held on January 5, 2026, at 10:00 AM.
Aslanoğlu, who is being tried as a defendant in the case opened as part of the investigation into the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality subsidiary İZBETON, had previously remained in custody for a period before being released from prison under house arrest. In the ongoing process, the judicial control measures against Aslanoğlu had also been lifted.
