Serenay Sarıkaya speaks out on detention order: 'I will return as soon as possible'

Famous actress Serenay Sarıkaya, for whom a detention order was issued in a major drug operation centered in Istanbul, has broken her silence. Sarıkaya, who said she was abroad, stated, "I will return to my country as soon as possible and complete all necessary procedures."
A striking development occurred in the wide-ranging drug investigation carried out under the coordination of the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against well-known figures from the arts and magazine world. Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams issued detention, search and biological examination orders for 25 suspects, including popular names such as Mabel Matiz, Feyza Civelek and Onur Tuna. One of the most notable names on the detention list was actress Serenay Sarıkaya.

The famous actress, who could not be found at her address as part of the operation and was determined to be abroad, made her first statement on her social media account after reports of the detention order against her. Addressing fans who were concerned about her, Sarıkaya used the following words:
"I received the news during an overseas trip I had planned long ago. I will return to my country as soon as possible and complete all necessary procedures, as everyone does. I am fine, there is no problem; love to everyone who was worried..."

In a statement on the matter, the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office said that after technical surveillance targeting people who facilitated drug trafficking, production and use, gendarmerie teams carried out simultaneous raids at 24 different addresses in Beşiktaş, Sarıyer, Beyoğlu, Kağıthane and Üsküdar. After cocaine brought in by sea from abroad and production workshops across Istanbul were dismantled, judicial proceedings are continuing against suspects, including famous names, as part of the deepened investigation.
