She lost her life before receiving her report card
In the Ünye district of Ordu, an 8-year-old first-grade student lost her life after being struck by a car.
The accident occurred on Atatürk Neighborhood Tepe Yolu Street. According to the information obtained, 8-year-old Defne Nur Karataş, who wanted to cross the road after getting off a minibus, was struck by the car with license plate 52 ADN 614, driven by Murat G.
Due to the force of the impact, the child was dragged for a distance and remained under the car. Health teams dispatched to the scene upon notification determined that the young child had lost her life at the scene. Following the investigation at the scene, Defne Nur's body was taken to the Ünye State Hospital morgue.
SHE WAS GOING TO RECEIVE HER REPORT CARD ONE DAY LATER
It was learned that Defne Nur, one of the two children of Neslihan and Hasan Karataş, was a first-grade student at Anafarta Primary School in the Ünye district and would have received her report card one day later had she not lost her life in the accident. Meanwhile, the moment of the accident was captured by a business's security camera.
The car driver was taken into custody, and an investigation into the accident has been initiated.
