Ship traffic in the Bosphorus has been temporarily and completely suspended as of this morning. The decision was driven by the "41st Year Admiral Cup Race" event, organized by the Turkish Sailing Federation.
According to information provided by authorities, maritime traffic, which has been suspended in both directions, will remain closed until 17:00 today. During the races, many national and international sailboats will compete fiercely in the waters of the Bosphorus.
Maritime warnings emphasized that all commercial and passenger vessels will be unable to use the Bosphorus route during the temporary closure. Transportation in the Bosphorus is expected to return to normal following the event.
