Significant development just days before CHP's convention lawsuit
The hearing for the lawsuit filed to annul the CHP's 38th Ordinary Convention has been moved to a different location due to the insufficiency of the courtroom.
Former Hatay Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Lütfü Savaş and several CHP delegates filed a lawsuit for the annulment of the party's 38th Ordinary Convention, which was held on November 4-5, 2023. These lawsuits were consolidated at the Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance.
The court stated that the current courtroom was insufficient due to the broad scope of the case, the high number of intervening parties, and intense media interest. For this reason, a larger courtroom was requested for the hearing scheduled for October 24.
The Ankara Courthouse Justice Commission Presidency decided that the hearing on October 24 would be held in courtroom Z-10 of the Ankara 25th Civil Court of First Instance, located at the Dışkapı Courthouse, to ensure the proceedings are conducted in a safe and orderly manner.
