Simultaneous attacks on US bases in Syria
Simultaneous attacks were carried out on US military bases in the Deir ez-Zor and Al-Hasakah provinces. It is not yet known if there were any casualties in the attacks.
Simultaneous attacks were carried out on bases where US forces are stationed in Syria's Deir ez-Zor, Al-Hasakah, and Homs provinces, including the Omar oil field, Kharab al-Jir, and Al-Tanf.
According to information obtained from local sources, 10 attacks were carried out after midnight using surface-to-surface weapons on the US military's Omar oil field and Kharab al-Jir bases in the Deir ez-Zor and Al-Hasakah provinces.
Meanwhile, the Al-Tanf base in the desert region of Homs, near the Jordanian border, was targeted by unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) of unknown origin.
While reports indicate that rockets fell in the vicinity of the bases, there is no information regarding any casualties.
In Deir ez-Zor, Syria, at least 15 attacks had previously been carried out on the military base at the Omar oil field and the Conoco gas field using surface-to-surface weapons.
ATTACKS ON US MILITARY HAVE INCREASED
In recent days, attacks have been carried out on bases where the US military is stationed in Syria, including the Al-Tanf region, the Al-Malikiyah district near the Iraqi border, the Al-Shaddadi district in Al-Hasakah province, and Deir ez-Zor province, using armed unmanned aerial vehicles (UCAVs) and surface-to-surface weapons of unknown origin.
The territory of Deir ez-Zor east of the Euphrates River is under the control of the YPG, while the city center and other rural areas are under the control of the Syrian government and Iranian-backed groups.
Iranian-backed groups occasionally carry out rocket and UCAV attacks on US bases on the eastern bank of the Euphrates River.
KHAMENEI HAD SAID 'ACTION WILL BE TAKEN'
On October 19, Iranian state television broadcast a report explaining how Israel could be attacked by its allies in the region—which Tehran refers to as "resistance forces"—if it does not stop its attacks on Gaza.
The video report showed on a map how Israel would be simultaneously targeted by missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles from the north by Hezbollah, from the east by militia forces in Iraq and Syria, and from the south by the Houthis in Yemen.
Iran has called at the highest level many times for Israel's attacks in Gaza to be stopped.
In a speech on October 17, Iranian leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said that if Israel's attacks continue, the "resistance forces" would take action.
Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian also mentioned the possibility of the Israel-Palestine conflict spreading to the region in a statement on October 19. Iran refers to Lebanese Hezbollah, the militias it supports in Syria and Iraq, and the Houthis in Yemen as "resistance forces."
